I AM SO VERY BAD.

Sorry for being bad at blogging you guys, but I have been too busy living life rather than blogging. Ohhhhh deep for a sunday afternoon.

Well one thing has been a little bit of a distraction, I shall call him The Distraction, in fact, the last time I blogged was just after we got together, which shows you just how much of a wonderful time suck he is. However, I'm sure none of you are too interested in that, because you read this to know about my year abroad, not my tawdry love life ( ps totes not that tawdry).

I have been to Toronto to see Tokyo Police Club ( awesome, they made it snow, and wore Christmas jumpers), skiing ( oww bruises and a lot of tears),  been home for Christmas, got an A, had exams, said goobye to some very good friends,  and celebrated Burns Night and Austrilia Day. None of which I have bothered telling you, bloggy readers about, and for that I am sorry. I feel like the bad relative who disappears for years, only to crawl out when someone dies, and they want cash. Of course, none of you have died, or given me any money but you kinda get my gist. I have popped out of the blue, expecting you all to listen to me again after letting you down for such a long time.

Canada is continuing to be awesome, its such a beautiful country, as reinforced by trip to Mount Tremblant. Take note Norfolk people, REAL LIFE MOUNTAINS, really big ones, proper ones which are really cold at the top, and still pretty cold at the bottom. The one of me smiling happily in my ski gear was taken before what shall only be known as the Green Run Which Lead Me To A Very Dark Place, lets just say the Kirby and Amy  ( the other ski bunnies in the photo) saved my emotional life, after deciding that I couldn't go on.

Work, at walkhome is ticking along nicely, getting a bit harder with the cold weather, but everyone is still very lovely, and it doesnt feel like work at all. Academic work is also you know going along, my ability to attend class is worsening, but since I am travelling so much I don't feel too guilty. This is my canada term so I am doing tonnes of Canada history and Lit, the history is pretty interesting ( Most Canadians do not agree).

Also felt like a proper International student this week, had a proper Burns Night with pipes, haggis and real proper scotsman, and Burns poetry, which was really awesome. BUT BUT I missed scottish dancing, Nightmare. Participated in the great traditions of Austrailia Day, of which one seems to be no australian knowing why they celebrate it, and being very drunk, so spent the day in drunken ignorant bliss basically being a tremendous mess and generallly a bad person.  I'm sure there are photos of this but they have no emerged on fb yet PRAISE BE, so cannot be included for illustrative purposes on this blog.

I'm off the QC ( Quebec City for those cool kids not in the know) on thursday and I PROMISE that I will blog after that, maybe even with a photo of The Distraction looking dashing in cold weather gear and hopefully a beard.  And then its Valentines Day and I will be planning something very special to make a fuss of my blog readers at the most wonderful time of the year.

Much loves and happy travelling friends.

Joey

Hey blog readers,

I have again been remiss in keeping up with blogging. We have had halloween (crazy) and a visit from my parents on halloween weekend.

I realised I told you all about my dressing up plans, but YOU DIDNT HEAR ALL THE CRAZY STORIES. so turns out I have very low party stamina. Thursday was really fun, co-op party got shut down by the cops.
sounds awesome but actually just a bit irratating. Parents got here on Friday, the cuties, having visited NY, Boston and Toronto. They loved New York, and they tried both mexican food and teriayaki. My parents are not very adventourus food-wise so this is a big deal for them. Apparently everywhere they found the occupy protesters, which was very topical of them. I took dad to the football game on Saturday which he loved, and we did the whole hot dog and half time and all that stuff. It was soo cold tho, neither of us were dressed appropropriately so spent most of the last two quarters shivering. He took 1000 plus photos, and generally was a massive cutie the whole trip.

We also went on a lovely trip to Wolfe Island, which was idyllic and sunny and rural and lovely. You could hear cows mooing in the distance. We also ate out a lot which was nice, but the best thing was they got to seee me in Canada all happy and settled and with friends. I was expecting that saying goodbye would be horrible, but it was actually fine. I'm guessing momma must have mellowed out a bit.

As for since then, I have had a few shifts at walk home which is cool, its so a nice job, and everyone is very very friendly. But I havent got paid yet which will be really exciting, because it means I can start planning some more travle things this term. I wanna see Toronto and Ottawa before the end of term because they are nice and close. There is a trip to Niagara as well that would be awesome, but the time on the coach is like 5 hours there and back. But hey gotta do it....

Bye guys. Sorry if this is a bit mangled Im still feeling a bit woozy from my cold medicine.

Love Love

Hullo.

Many different types of news for this blog post.

Part the First- Employment. HOORAY. Money coming in. I got a job with Queens Walkhome, which is basically an on campus safety thing, where you walk people home when its dark/cold/wet/windy/unsafe. First shift tonight. Very excited. Can't get paid soon enough, very profligate week.

Part the Second-Academia. Turns out Canadian uni is way easier than England, averaging a lovely B even for stuff that was the sludge from my brain. Butttt way more stuff to hand in and exams in the next two weeks which is rubbish because

Part the Third- MUMMY AND DADDY ARE COMING TO VISIT. Yayyy  I love them, i love them I looooooove them. Its been two months since I saw them, and I'm not homesick because I never get home sick but I do miss my mum and my papi. They leave on Tuesday the 1st which is conincedentally when all my work kicks off. So expect to see me in my room eating a lot of biscuits in my dressing gown. Well to be honest I hope none of you do see me. And Blog prepare for lots of Hilary/ Steward anecdotes.

Part the FOURTH- Autumn/Impending HALLOWEEN. Halloween is gonna be a total bust for me, cos this weekend I got one of my epic superhangovers, which totally makes it sounds like a medical condition of which I have no control, but lets not lie it was the tequila shots. and the vodka, and the wine. and the cider.  This makes me drinking alchol to any level of drunkeness impossible for the next few weeks. So get ready to meet Sober Sindy Canada. Apart from maybe this tuesday because it's a friends birthday at the Spot. I cannot spot without the buffer of alcohol.  I am dressing up as Cleopatra, and Snow White. All about the new bob my friends. Shorter and Browner than its even been. I included Autumn in this post, because the weather is APALLLING, at least the leaves are pretty tho.

Thats the end. There is no part the Fifth, OR IS THERE?

no there isn't. Love you. xxx

Bad me

So someone told me off for my lazy blogging antics. I promise in the future to be better...
So NOW I'm in Canada how is it? Am I homesick? Do I have any friends?  Is it a massive cultural mind fuck?

Good. No. Yes. No. Now thats done. Kingston is pretty but small, but definately an upgrade from Warwick and Leamington Spa. ( City wise, not people wise. I still like you warwick friends don't worry) Overall Canadia is just very American, which I know I shouldn't say but it is.  Halls are pretty standard, lots of other international people. One thing is I do really need some Canadian friends, so far I have been in a little bubble of forignity.  My accent seems to be pretty exciting to both Canadians and forigen people alike. Turns out I am like ridicolously posh, which apparently allows me to get away with a lot of stuff and also brings a lot of questions. LIKE OMG YOU'RE FROM ENGLAND!

I just got back from Montreal for Thanksgiving which was pretty super awesome. Yeah, thats right I'm all Canadain and positive now.  Its such a cool city, and the weather was soooo good. I liked Old Montreal the best it was all continental and lovely.  Went out everynight and drank a lot of  sangria, which was pretty unCanadian of me, but also strangely delicious.  Also saw Eddie Izzard, nearly went up to him and got a picture, just for YOU JEN. ( I know you subscribed bbz)

Bye for now bbz,
Josephine

P.S. I promise I will post once a week slash more if interesting stuff happens.

"I'm not going to squirt you guys, because you are like... from interesting countries"

SOOOO FROSH WEEK has begun. Its like the scariest thing in the world.

Just found this reminant of blog. Turns out I am very easily distracted from writing blog entries.

First Post

So it is just under a month until I make the long journey across the pond and a bit more, and I am quite happily ignoring it. Not in a scared way, in a enjoying the moment kind of a way.  Most of everything is sorted apart from the really boring stuff like packing and insurance, which I am supposed to be doing today with the Hilary (Mumma who bore me) if she ever returns from her lunch. TOO GLAMOUROUS FOR HER OWN GOOD. I shall just have to forge forward alone, it will be good practise for being a sexy independent women.

Until I leave quite a lot of this blog will be me writing lists of stuff I need to buy/bring/do/visit/be.  Because lists are the best way to get stuff done.  Also featured maybe a heavy dose of ancedotes, and occasional emotional whingeing or moaning, and a lot of I DONT WANNA GO,  DONT MAKE ME LEAVVVVVVE!

I should probably write a but about my feelings about going on my YA. I am very excited and nervous. This is pretty much it, and I can't wait to be in Canada, and America and cross off stufff from travel list. At the moment I am suffering from quite a large Hawaii obession, I really really want to go. I can't wait for the whole thing to just begin!

Bye for now guys.
